After graduating from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1984, I completed my compulsory service as a Factory Physician at Etibank Ergani Copper Enterprise in Elazığ Maden District between 1984-1986.
In 1986, I started my specialization by passing the specialization exam held by Fırat University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine. I took part in the establishment and operation of the Hemodialysis unit, as well as other sub-units of Internal Medicine. In the last three years of my specialization, I worked mainly in cardiology. During my specialization, I learned almost all manipulations of Internal Medicine, as well as echocardiography, Holter and ultrasonography, and implantation of temporary and permanent pacemakers.
After completing my specialization on December 20, 1990, I worked as chief assistant and specialist in the Coronary Intensive Care Unit at the same clinic.
He left the faculty at the end of 1991 and worked at Elazığ S.S.K. until the end of 1993. I worked as an internal medicine specialist at the hospital.
At the beginning of 1994, I was appointed as the first faculty member and assistant professor at Celal Bayar University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Cardiology. At all establishment stages of the faculty and the Training and Practice hospital; I served as Deputy Dean, Head of the Department of Internal Medicine, Deputy Head of the Department of Chest Diseases, Member of the Faculty Board of Directors and Deputy Chief Physician. During this period, I served as technical commission member and technical commission chairman in the hospital-related tender commissions established. At the same time, in addition to the Faculty of Medicine, I taught at the University’s School of Physical Education and Sports and the School of Health Professions. I took part in the establishment of the Coronary Intensive Care Unit and served as the Responsible Faculty Member of this Unit.
In 1996, I succeeded in the Inter-University Board’s exam and received the title of Associate Professor of Internal Medicine (General Internal Medicine).
In 1997, I was appointed as chief physician to Manisa SSK Regional Hospital and served in this position for a year. During this period, I ensured the renovation of the operating room, service and all other units of the SSK central hospital. I opened all of the SSK Birth Clinic, Additional Polyclinic building and Emergency Units, starting and finishing during my term. I modernized the affiliated district hospitals and dispensaries.
Between 1998 and 2000, I served as the Chief Physician of a Private Medical Center in Bursa for 2.5 years.
In 2003, I was appointed as the Chief Physician of Bursa Ali Osman Sönmez Oncology Hospital. When I took over, I turned this hospital, which had 180 beds, into a 400-bed hospital in 3.5 years. I started and completed the projects such as the Cancer Early Diagnosis Center, the first hotel hospital project in Turkey, and the transformation of the old Teras Hotel on Uludağ Road into Turkey’s first independent medical oncology clinic, during my term of office. Within the framework of the ‘Health Transformation Project’ of the Ministry of Health, I implemented many practices such as the procurement of many different services and the right to choose a doctor in this hospital for the first time in Turkey, and I was awarded the title of “BEST HEALTH MANAGER” for these works.
With the practice ban on chief physicians, I resigned from my second duty as chief physician and returned to Bursa Yüksek İhtisas Training Hospital Internal Medicine Clinic Chief, where I was originally employed, in 2006. After Uludağ University, I established Bursa’s 2nd Internal Medicine training clinic and carried out treatment and training studies. I continued my work here until May 2011, when the clinic was moved to Bursa Şevket Yılmaz Hospital. I resigned from the civil service in May 2011.
In the Medicalpark group, I took on the position of Medical Director of Bursa Hospital in 2011 and the General Manager 1 year later. Şubat 2017’ye kadar bu görevi yürürttüm.
In 2016, I was appointed as a professor at Istanbul Aydın University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine.
I opened my own clinic in Bursa Nilüfer in June 2018 and continue my medical activities here.
During my time in Bursa, I served as the founding Board Member of Bursa Private Health Organizations Association, (BURSAD), Bursa Health Tourism Association (BUSAT) and several other associations. I worked as a founding board member and President of the Association at Bursa Health Tourism Association. I served as the President of this association for 2 years. Apart from this, I worked as a founder and manager in some non-governmental organizations. I am currently the Deputy Chairman of Bursa City Council and the Chairman of the Health Working Group, as well as the Deputy Chairman of the Bursa Health Tourism Association.
I have around 100 studies, articles and scientific research published in domestic and international journals and presented at national and international congresses.
